Finely modeled Japanese dolls represent imperial couple with brilliant silk brocaded costume, hair style and make-up of Heian period (794-1185) of Japanese history.
The empress dressed in twelve layered court attire hold a cypress folding fan in her hand, while emperor in white kariginu and red hakama and high court hat holds a flute.

This wonderful dolls crafted by Emi Wada, the famous Japanese costume designer and Oscar winner for best costume design at 1985.
The dolls are in excellent condition and with no damage.
The dolls are on black wooden stand signed by artist and in glass-wooden black display box.
