A large, wonderfully crafted doll is from early Taisho period (1912-1924). Highly detailed splendid silk brocade court cloth as well as amour, depict young Samurai Warrior Lord of Muromachi period of Japanese history. He has glass eyes and a serene, enigmatic expression on his wooden burnished fresh-colored gofun face. Great attention was paid to the textiles and accessories of this samurai doll. He is regally outfitted in a luxurious brocade kimono under his chased metal armor, and he wears a tall golden lacquered nobleman’s hat. He holds Japanese symbol of military power - metal Gun-pai Uchiwa with Sun and Waning Moon images, which means "Positive and negative principles". And he is ready to give an order.
