This Japanese figure of the Shinto deity Hotei represents the God of good fortunes, satisfaction and trade. This figurine is exquisitely hand painted. His body, hands and feet are left unglazed and kimono is under glazed. His face happily expression shows that he is in good mood. The God sits and exposes his pot-belly fanning himself. The manufacturer is Kutani. Late Edo period.

Excellent condition without any cracks or repairs.
