Japanese Satsuma Porcelain Vase in Namban Style
Japanese porcelain Satsuma vase of baluster form, decorated
continuous castle and sea scene, painted in enamels and
gilt and depicts scene of foreigners (European-dressed people)
visited Japan. Picturesque view from the castle balcony,
red bridge, houses and pines, people looking with curiosity
at the foreigners, large foreign ship and other details
are painted artistically.
It has Satsuma stamp on base and come with original wooden
box also signed.
About 1900's, Meiji period
Excellent condition with no damage.
