Japanese antique silk face doll of a young townswoman,
1950's
This rare and unique graceful and wonderfully dressed
Japanese antique
silk faced doll was crafted in Kyoto around 1950-s
by artist Shikura. The doll represents beautiful young lady
dressed with in brilliant designed silk kimono artistically
hand painted with cherry and plum blossom motif. Light silk
tie-dyeing obi belt colored in red adorned with black
lace. One of her under kimono collar embroidered with cherry
flowers. Doll's black hair skillfully stacked in a high
hairstyle and decorated with red comb, long hair-pins and
red silk scarf. Wooden black lacquered sandals are in her
feet.
Dimensions: 62 cm /24,4 inches high
Conditions: excellent according to age with no damage
