Japanese HAORI is mid-length loose jacket that serve as a coat to be worn over a kimono. Haori were originally meant to be worn by men as a component of the formal attire.

This is Japanese traditional  man's black silk haori with beautifully rendered  picturesque on white silk lining and with five samurai family emblem or MON with bamboo and birds inside the circle associated with samurai warrior clan. The colors of the haori are rich and effective.
Design motifs are a samurai warrior helmet, traditional lantern,  broken umbrella, castle and bridge, ancient manuscript and other pieces of Japanese historical atmosphere. All pictures are shaped to Japanese folding fan.
This garment is shown also with the lining turned outward, in the fashion preferred by some Westerners for display or wear.
The haori is in excellent condition inside and out.
